4 extra states and Union Territories have joined the One Nation, One Ration Card platform with impact from August 1, the Union Ministry of Client Affairs, Meals and Public Distribution stated on Saturday.
With the addition of Jammu & Kashmir, Manipur, Nagaland and Uttarakhand, the variety of states and UTs on the ration card portability platform has elevated to 24. Earlier, 20 states and UTs together with Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Gujarat, Kerala, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Odisha, Punjab, Sikkim, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh had joined the programme.
