On Wednesday evening, there was some fairly big news about a potential scandal that could have rocked Washington — if the liberal media had actually bothered to cover it properly.

One of Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz’s IT staffers, Imran Awan, was arrested at  Dulles Airport attempting to flee the country, The Washington Times reported.

Awan had been under investigation by the FBI for bank fraud for five months before his arrest — but  Wasserman Schultz still had him employed and he still had access to a congressional computer.

Now, the White House is going after Wasserman Schultz and Awan, demanding a full investigation into exactly what happened here, and why it took Awan being arrested at the airport for Wasserman Schultz to finally fire him.

“I do think it is something we should fully look into and there should be a thorough investigation,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters on Thursday, according to The Washington Times.

President Donald Trump himself weighed in on the matter on Thursday as well, retweeting a Townhall article highlighting how the liberal media barely paid any attention to this potentially explosive scandal.

Politico reported that there is a lot of speculation surrounding Awan, in part because Wasserman Schultz has been incredibly uncooperative with authorities.

Awan was accused, along with his family members who were also House staffers, of stealing computer equipment and illegally accessing the House IT network. Some of Awan’s family members were promptly fired after they were accused.

There’s more proof of wrongdoing surrounding Awan and his family than there is in the entire Democrat narrative about Trump.

However, Wasserman Schultz initially stood by Awan, stubbornly refusing to accept facts and claiming that the accusations against him were racist.

Given that Wasserman Schultz was forced to resign as head of the Democratic National Committee because of revelations that she’d used her power to influence the Democrat primary campaign to help Hillary Clinton defeat Vermon Sen. Bernie Sanders, there are a lot of unanswered questions about Awan’s role in everything.

The White House is right to demand an investigation. The DNC’s manipulation of the primary process in favor of Clinton has never been fully explored.

Changing the story in Washington from a cloud of scandal over the White House for imagined wrongdoing to an investigation of Democrats for clearly unethical, and possibly illegal, behavior, would be a special brand of justice.

If Democrats are going to waste millions of taxpayer dollars on a witch hunt about “collusion” between the Trump campaign and Russia, then Republicans should have no problem spending money to get the bottom of this very serious issue.

The Democrats have been involved in corruption for decades. It’s about time we had an administration willing to call them out on it.
