It only took Fox News host Tucker Carlson a few minutes to slam the mainstream media for their obvious bias against President Donald Trump and compare their coverage of news to political campaigns.
On “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Friday, Carlson said the liberal media’s bias couldn’t be more obvious, not only from the stories they chose to cover but also from the ones they ignore.
“About the only people who deny widespread media bias these days are the people who are directly benefiting from it,” Carlson said. “And that would include progressive activists posing as reporters, and the Democratic politicians whose water they carry.”
Carlson noted a recent Harvard University study that found 80 percent of the media’s coverage of Trump’s first 100 days was negative, setting what the study called a “new standard for negativity.”
The report also stated that there was “not a single major topic where Trump’s coverage was more positive than negative.”
“It’s not really news coverage at that point,” Carlson said, describing the findings. “It’s advocacy.”
Carlson also pointed out that the bias shown by liberal news outlets also included them failing to cover issues that Trump supporters care about.
Take a look:
It’s hard to disagree with Carlson about any of this. The mainstream media has never been fair to Trump and they have shown their animosity toward him from the moment he announced he was running for president. Trump winning the presidency only gave them more reason to attack him.
The media has denied any bias, but the Harvard study revealed that this is simply something else they aren’t willing to be completely honest about — along with practically everything else.
While the media shouldn’t be expected to fawn over Trump as they did former President Barack Obama, a little fairness shouldn’t be too much to ask. But apparently, it is.
