While President Donald Trump has been dealing with several media-driven scandals in recent weeks, he continues to hold his head high and fulfill his presidential obligations.
Speaking as the keynote speaker at the United States Coast Guard Academy graduation on Wednesday, Trump took a few swings at the liberal media.
“Now I want to take this opportunity to give you some advice. Over the course of your life, you will find that things are not always fair, that things happen to you that you do not deserve and that are not always warranted,” Trump told graduates.
“But you have to put your head down and fight, fight, fight. Never, ever, ever give up, things will work out just fine,” he continued.
The president’s advice has certainly been his own modus operandi. While swaths of media pundits and mainstream media talking heads insisted Trump was finished during the 2016 campaign, he pressed on, eventually defying the odds with his historic victory.
“Look at the way I’ve been treated lately, especially by the media. No politician in history — and I say this with great surety — has been treated worse or more unfairly. You can’t let them get you down,” Trump continued.
“You can’t let the critics and the naysayers get in the way of your dreams,” he said as the crowd cheered.
Trump’s speech was the first time he had a chance to publicly address the firestorm of controversies that the media has been salivating over in recent weeks. The president managed to simultaneously fight back against those attacks and give some positive advice to the graduates.
“Adversity makes you stronger. Don’t give in, don’t back down, and never stop doing what you know is right. Nothing worth doing, ever, ever, ever came easy. And the more righteous your fight, the more opposition that you will face,” he said.
Watch his remarks here:
Throughout the Republican primary, the general election campaign and the past few months of his presidency, Trump has been a constant target by the mainstream media.
However, that hasn’t stopped Trump from doing what he believes in.
Right now, Trump may be facing his most serious test to date. Hopefully he, along with his communications team, will be able to weather this storm and come out victorious once again.
