On Wednesday, after President Trump held a speech in front of the U.N. Assembly, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley dropped a fact worth knowing.
The comments came after she was asked if she believed it is “appropriate” for President Donald Trump to name-call North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and refer to him as “Rocket Man.”
“Do you think it’s appropriate to use a term like ‘Rocket Man’ to talk about a leader of another country who’s got nuclear weapons?” ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos asked.
“I’ll tell you, George, it worked. I was talking to a president of an African country yesterday, and he actually cited ‘Rocket Man’ back to me,” Haley responded.
As Haley explained, Trump’s nickname is a “way of getting people to talk about him.” She also claimed “everybody in the international community” is now calling the dictator “Rocket Man.”
President Trump didn’t hesitate to promise to totally destroy North Korea should the situation require it.
“Rocket Man is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime,” Trump said. “The United States is ready, willing, and able, but hopefully, this will not be necessary.”
