The problem with being a package thief — I mean, aside from package theft being illegal and one of the lowest forms of robbery possible — is that you never know who it is that you’re stealing from. You never know if you’re crossing the wrong person. You never know if you’re crossing someone like Tom Mabe.
Who is Tom Mabe? If you’re not familiar with him, he’s one of the few YouTube pranksters whose work isn’t a sick affront to God and man. But don’t let that fool you into thinking he’s an unfunny milquetoast. Anyone who’s heard his legendary treatment of annoying telemarketers knows that while he’s no shameless social media attention-seeker, he’s also got quite an edge to him.
Back in 2016, Mabe’s neighborhood had been the target of several package thefts. Frustrated with the thieves, Mabe decided to turn catching them into one of his pranks. So, he invented a small explosive device that was designed to go off 40 seconds after the thief picked it up.
It wasn’t designed to hurt the thief, though. Instead, it delivered a different kind of vomit-inducing payload — namely, day-old poop.
As you can see, the thief almost escapes Mabe’s security camera. Almost.
However, just before he escapes from sight, we see the stomach-churning results of Mr. Mabe’s brilliant contraption manifesting themselves. Ouch. At least it didn’t soil the interior of anything more expensive than an aging Dodge Caliber — although, quite frankly, we wish that it did.
Now, most of us don’t necessarily have the kind of know-how to make a poop-bomb, or the stomach for it. However, it’s nice to see those who do taking out their frustrations on low-level package thieves.
As for package thieves, remember: you can only get away with this sort of behavior for so long. Eventually, you’re going to run across a Tom Mabe. No, they might treat you to a poop bomb, but you could get jail or viral ignominy.
And if you do get the poop, it’s going to take an awful long time to get that smell out of your car.
