One aspect that has been questioned regarding the constantly evolving story of alleged “collusion” that took place during a meeting in July 2016 between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer is how the Russian lawyer was allowed into the country in the first place.
A lengthy piece in The Hill detailed the “extraordinary circumstances” surrounding the special immigration parole that was extended to Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya by then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch, ostensibly to participate in a specific trial for one of her clients, though the article exposed many other things Veselnitskaya did in America far and beyond defending her client in court.
The fact that Veselnitskaya received special limited permission to enter the country by Lynch after previously being rejected for a standard visa, as well as her documented lobbying activities and connections with Democrat-aligned political operatives, has some wondering if perhaps she was let in on purpose as a means to entrap the Trump campaign and provide a legitimate excuse for subjecting them to government surveillance.
Republican Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert is one of those asking such questions, and he touched on the topic during an interview with host Ernie Brown on USA Radio’s “Trending Today USA” program.
Gohmert noted that, prior to the meeting between Trump Jr. and Veselnitskaya, the Obama administration had been unable to obtain a warrant to conduct surveillance on the Trump campaign from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court.
However, after the meeting, arranged under false pretenses, took place with the lawyer associated with Democrat-aligned opposition research firm Fusion GPS, it appears that permission to conduct surveillance was ultimately granted. This perhaps was arranged to be used as a pretext to garner that authorization.
Of course, Gohmert could be purely speculating on his theory, but it is a safe assumption that Gohmert is privy to a bit more behind-the-scenes knowledge than many others.
Furthermore, Gohmert isn’t the only one advancing the theory that the entire meeting between Trump Jr. and the Russian attorney was one big set-up to ensnare the Trump campaign from the get-go, as independent journalist Jack Posobiec did so in a piece published by Medium.
Citing an unnamed former Trump campaign official, Posobiec alleged that the infamous meeting was used as an excuse to obtain a FISA “wiretap” on then-campaign manager Paul Manafort’s phone, as he was present at the meeting.
If any of this is eventually confirmed as true, it would mean that Loretta Lynch’s fingerprints are all over the alleged illegal surveillance of Trump’s campaign, and would further prove that the entire Russian collusion narrative was manufactured by opponents of Trump.
This would also seem to provide support to Trump’s much-maligned tweet about former President Barack Obama wiretapping Trump Tower. We won’t hold our breath waiting for the media to admit that he was right.
