Trump Smashes Welfare Record With Just Six Months in Office

Contrary to what liberals would have everyone believe, President Donald Trump is doing some good in Washington.

The six months that Trump has been in the White House have led to the smashing of an epic seven-year record that will have conservative cheering.

Reports from the U.S. Department of Agriculture indicate that participation in food stamp programs across the country has nosedived to the lowest level it has been since 2010.

According to the USDA’s statistics, the number of Americans participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program during the current fiscal year stands at 42,609,852.

That’s the lowest the number has been since 2010, when 40,302,000 Americans participated.

In 2013, the program saw the highest number of participants at 47.6 million. This, of course was under former President Barack Obama, whom former House Speaker Newt Gingrich once aptly nicknamed the “food stamp president.”

Obama began to cut the program slightly in 2014 mainly to appease Republicans, but more significantly, individual states implemented their own efforts to cut down on the number of those taking part in food stamp programs.

The results were astonishing.

For example, Maine, Alabama and Georgia have made it more difficult to get on the program. In addition, Arkansas and Alabama have added work requirements to qualify for participation, which essentially made it more difficult for able-bodied individuals to milk the system.

SNAP costs taxpayers  $70 billion a year, and while we would like to believe all of that money went to help those who are seriously in need, this drop in participation seems to indicate that a significant amount of fraud was taking place.

Trump said he would put the taxpayer first when he released his budget in May, and it appears he has done just that.

And Democrats and welfare leeches across the country can’t stand it.
