Trump Scolds Entire Republican Party for Failing to Do 1 Thing

In a Sunday tweet, President Donald Trump put Republican party members on notice by claiming they weren’t protecting him enough.

“It’s very sad that Republicans, even some that were carried over the line on my back, do very little to protect their President,” Trump tweeted.

While Trump didn’t mention anything in particular, the tweet was sandwiched in between three tweets about other issues: the Russia investigation, news coverage and health care reform.

“If Republicans don’t Repeal and Replace the disastrous ObamaCare, the repercussions will be far greater than any of them understand!” one of the tweets read.

“It’s hard to read the Failing New York Times or the Amazon Washington Post because every story/opinion, even if should be positive, is bad!” another read.

“As the phony Russian Witch Hunt continues, two groups are laughing at this excuse for a lost election taking hold, Democrats and Russians!” read the tweet Trump issued right before his claim that the party wasn’t doing enough to protect him.

It’s on the last issue that Trump has been abandoned most by his party.

Chris Christie, once one of Trump’s top supporters, opined that Donald Trump Jr.’s emails arranging a meeting with a Russian lawyer who allegedly had dirt on Hillary Clinton likely broke the law, according to CNN.

Trey Gowdy, the outspoken representative whose aggressive tactics earned him the sobriquet “The Bulldog,” also went after the president after the Trump Jr. emails broke.

“You should get everyone in a room, and from the moment you watched either ‘Dr. Zhivago’ or read ‘Brothers Karamazov’ to the point you had a shot of liquor with a guy in a furry hat, you need to disclose every contact you have ever had with Russia,” Gowdy said, according to CBS News.

Of course, Gowdy’s remarks seemed to imply he didn’t believe the Trump administration had broken the law, and Christie’s remarks could be chalked up to his falling out with the president.

Nevertheless, the GOP hasn’t stood up to either the Democrats or Robert Mueller over the expanding investigation — which seems awfully unconcerned nowadays with its original purpose of Russian interference in the 2016 election — and it’s clear President Trump isn’t happy. We’ll certainly see where this goes next.
