Comedian Stephen Colbert plumbed the depths of vile humor on May 1 during “The Late Show” when he made a profane gay-themed joke about President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
In an interview with Time, Trump responded to Colbert’s anti-Trump rant, saying the comedian was a “no-talent guy” who talks “filthy.”
“You see a no-talent guy like Colbert. There’s nothing funny about what he says. And what he says is filthy.”
Trump pointed out that before Colbert began trashing him the show was suffering in the ratings, and added that when he appeared on the show, it got high ratings.
Colbert came under fire after he said the only thing the president’s mouth was good for was Putin’s personal “c*** holster.”
And rightly so. Vulgar remarks like that have no place on late-night television.
The Federal Communications Commission is reportedly investigating Colbert over the matter. Chairman Ajit Pai said the federal agency was considering fining the comedian, reported Breitbart.
“Traditionally, the agency has to decide, if it does find a violation, what the appropriate remedy should be,” Pai said. “A fine, of some sort, is typically what we do.”
None of that seemed to worry Colbert, who told his viewers that he didn’t regret making the comment, according to The Washington Times.
Trump is right: There’s nothing funny about these kinds of jokes, but the left will keep on telling them.
