During the 2016 campaign, Donald Trump promised to help small businessmen out. He didn’t say anything, however, about small businesschildren.
That didn’t stop a young man named Frank from contacting the president for a job, asking if he could cut the White House grass.
According to reporter Lachlan Markay, 10-year-old Frank’s letter to the president has been making the rounds after another reporter, Cameron Joseph, got hold of it. While it wasn’t officially released by the White House, Markay noted he “(c)an confirm it’s adorable.”
Here’s the letter from young Frank:

“It would be my honor to mow the White House lawn some weekend for you,” Frank began.
“Even though I’m only ten, I would like to show the nation what young people like me are ready for. I admire your business background and have started my own business.
“I have been mowing my neighbors’ lawns for some time. Please see the attached flier. Here’s a list of what I have and you are free to pick whatever you want: power mower, push mower, and weed whacker. I can bring extra fuel for the power mower and charged batteries for the weed whacker. I will do this at no charge.”
Talk about the art of the deal. Not bad!
It’s worth pointing out that Frank might want to think about adjusting his prices. According to the White House Historical Association, the grounds of the executive mansion cover a rather expansive 18 acres. Unless his neighbors have surnames like Vanderbilt, Bezos, Gates, Carnagie, Jobs and Bloomberg, odds are he’s not used to mowing lawns that size. And not to cast aspersions on the work ethic of rich kids, but you usually don’t see them going door-to-door mowing lawns for spending money.
Our hats are off to you, Frank. We expect to be hearing big things from you in the years to come.
