The NFL quarterback turned stadium-filling baseball outfielder, Tim Tebow recently received a promotion that’s taken him back to Florida to play for the Port St. Lucie Mets.
And what he’s already accomplished on the field has many speculating that Tebow might soon get the call to join the majors, perhaps as early as September.
The Wild Card reports:
After stalling out with a .220 average in low A, the New York Mets prospect received the phone call that every young player longs to receive: the call to pack the bags for bigger and better things.
The June 26 promotion landed Tebow back in his beloved state of Florida with the Port St. Lucie Mets, New York’s high A affiliate.
In just 10 games the former NFL quarterback has accumulated 10 hits, bringing him to a remarkable .345 average.
The more impressive of his stats are the power numbers. Tebow is slugging .621 with an OPS of 1.093.

Wildcard proposes that “another promotion or even a September call-up might be in the cards for Tebow [that would] provide a massive boost to the Mets’ morale as well as to ticket and merchandise sales.”
Even if it is too late to make the playoffs, calling Tebow in now can only help the team.
Tebow certainly draws waves of support.

The Wild Card continues:
Given the Mets’ struggles — they’re 11 games behind the division leader — the odds are not in their favor to make a playoff run. So why not call up Tebow when rosters expand in September? The Mets have nothing to lose.

Is Tebow’s future looking even brighter?
