Though it was the subject of much ridicule from just about every mainstream sports outlet, Tim Tebow’s promotion to the High-A St. Lucie Mets proved a success in his first week with the team.
The former NCAA and NFL quarterback had his bat going right from the start, hitting 5-for-11 and blasting a home run in just his second game.
On Friday, Tebow showed he has more than just hitting to bring to the table.
With a runner on first and two outs, Fort Myers first baseman Zander Wiel hit a ball hard to left field. On a dead sprint, Tebow jumped in the air and made the catch just as he slammed into the outfield wall.
