This Christmas, President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania and most of the Trump family spent the holidays down south in sunny Palm Beach, Florida. The family enjoyed Christmas at Trump’s lavish Mar-a-Lago estate, and some photos of their vacation have made their way to Instagram.
One particular image is of the president photobombing his youngest son and grandkids.
The photo was from the Christmas Eve dinner at the resort. Trump and his family sat around a table in the center of the room that was reportedly roped off so that others would keep a respectable distance.
Mr. Trump was playing around with his 11-year-old son, Barron, and grandchildren Spencer and Tristan. The boys smiled big for the picture, but unbeknownst to Barron, his old man was behind him holding up bunny ears.
Donald Trump Jr. took the photo and shared it on social media. “Ha, now that’s a photo-bomb. @realdonaldtrump jumping in on a photo of Spencer and Tristan horsing around with Barron at Christmas dinner. Too funny,” Trump Jr. wrote.
Other photos from the family’s vacation that made their way online include a brief video of sisters Ivanka and Tiffany Trump.
The president’s two daughters were in bathing suits by the pool. They blew kisses at the camera and wished people a ‘Merry Christmas’, while wearing angel halo and wing filters.
First Lady Melania Trump shared a selfie while donning a Santa cap. She decorated the photo with little flying reindeer filters.
Ivanka Trump got slammed for posting an image of her husband, Jared Kushner, and their oldest son. The father and son were on a boat fishing, and had caught a nice-sized fish.
“To any kid, this fish is a trophy!” the proud mama wrote.
Unfortunately, the photo just gave Trump critics the opportunity to rant against the family. Someone on a boat behind Kushner was flying a controversial Confederate Flag, so the Trumps got blamed for it.
Before taking off for Florida, the POTUS and the FLOTUS released a video wishing Americans a Merry Christmas. The warm video shows flashbacks from their first year in the White House, showing them greeting members of the Armed Forces, comforting victims of hurricanes and greeting children.
Christians found the message particularly uplifting, as Trump got Biblical in his comments. He talked about the birth of Jesus and the religious celebration that Christmas is, something that many complain has been glossed over as society becomes increasingly secular.
Many supporters lined up in Florida to greet the president and wish him a Merry Christmas as his motorcade rode through the town to his golfing resort. People held up signs and Trump smiled and waved to the crowd as he made his way to his destination.
After the holiday was over, President Trump tweeted, “I hope everyone is having a great Christmas, then tomorrow it’s back to work in order to Make America Great Again (which is happening faster than anyone anticipated)!”
On December 26th, Trump was slammed for squeezing in another round of golf, however, the president has insisted that his holiday has been a ‘working vacation’ and that he’s been getting a lot done.
