After making the border wall proposal a key problem of his 2016 presidential campaign, President Trump is determined to address the building of the wall at later date.

“The wall will come later,” Trump said on Thursday before he departed for Florida.

“We’re right now renovating large sections of wall, massive sections, making it brand new,” Trump stated. “We’re doing a lot of renovations, we’re building four different samples of the wall to see which one we’re going to choose, and the wall is going to be built, it’ll be funded a little bit later.”

His statement came one day after the meeting with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., at the White House.

Trump said he will accept increased security actions instead of immediate funding for the wall.

“Well, we want to get massive border security, and I think both Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer — I think they agree with it,” Trump said. “We met last night, as you know, Schumer, Pelosi and a whole group and I think we’re fairly close, but we have to get massive border security.”

Schumer and Pelosi issued a joint statement saying Trump agreed to support the protections of DACA into law, without receiving a funding for the wall.

“We agreed to enshrine the protections of DACA into law quickly, and to work out a package of border security, excluding the wall, that’s acceptable to both sides,” Pelosi and Schumer said.

Anyhow, Sarah Huckabee posted a statement on Twitters saying no agreement was reached about excluding funding for the border wall.

“While DACA and border security were both discussed, excluding the wall was certainly not agreed to,” Sanders stated.

Trump also issued a statement on Twitter saying that there was no deal made during the meeting, But he still is open to the amnesty for Dreamers without immediate funding for the border wall.

“No deal was made last night on DACA. Massive border security would have to be agreed to in exchange for consent. Would be subject to vote,” Trump said.

“Does anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military?” he said.

Adding: “They have been in our country for many years through no fault of their own – brought in by parents at young age. Plus BIG border security.”
