Patriotic Video Shows Mike Rowe Singing National Anthem At Baseball Game

A video from more than a decade ago shows former Dirty Jobs host and current Deadliest Catch narrator Mike Rowe singing the national anthem before a baseball game, offering a another reminder of the patriotism that Rowe is unafraid to put on display.

Rowe sang the anthem prior to an August 2006 baseball game at Prince George’s Stadium in Bowie, Maryland.

The video includes several other clips of Rowe sweeping the dugout, sliding into bases, helping prep the infield dirt and driving a golf cart before the game.

After the anthem, the crowd immediately began to applaud. Rowe also had a bucket of Gatorade dumped on him in celebration.

Rowe has consistently been a strong advocate for patriotism and military veterans for some time.

During the debut of his new Facebook series show Returning the Favor last month, Rowe visited a U.S. Army veteran who had opened a motorcycle shop to help other veterans battling post-traumatic stress disorder.

The premise of Rowe’s show is to is find people who are doing good in the world for others and return the favor by doing something good for them.

Jason Zaidement, the veteran honored in Rowe’s first episode, created Operation Combat Bikesaver after seeing firsthand the effects PTSD had on his father, a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Rowe gave the garage a new coat of paint, paid the shop’s rent for the next year and bought new equipment.

Moreover, the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association participated in a motorcycle ride and gave Zaidement with a $17,500 check.

In December 2016, Rowe criticized college students who were captured on camera burning the America flag. Some protesters were burning the American flag outside of Trump Tower in New York City, the month after Donald Trump was elected president.

Rowe pointed out that the students at Hampshire College were receiving federal funding and thus, the American taxpayers were essentially paying their much of their 60,000/year tuition.

“That means that We the People are enabling schools like Hampshire to sell a liberal arts degree for approximately $250,000,” Rowe wrote on Facebook.

“To my knowledge, no one has ever burned a flag at a trade school,” Rowe added. “I wonder why that is?”

Rowe famously told a group of college graduates in a June 2016 PragerU video that the real world isn’t fair and doesn’t care about their dreams.

“Look, I understand the importance of persistence, and the value of encouragement, but who tells a stranger to never give up on their dreams, without even knowing what it is they’re dreaming?” Rowe said.

“How can Lady Gaga possibly know where your passion will lead you?” he asked

After saying most dream jobs are unrealistic and can lead people down the wrong path in life, Rowe encouraged people to pursue what they are passionate about.

“Never follow your passion, but always bring it with you,” he said.
