I guess if you can do it, then why not? I mean after all, everyone does seem to enjoy a dip in the pool on a hot day.

And when you have a pool this size, everyone can enjoy it. See, the pool that Jerry and Marina Leussink built is really less like a pool in the traditional sense and more like a … well, a lake.

Let’s take some measurements on this. Length: 90 feet. Width: 70 feet. Depth: 14 feet.

A whopping 317,000 gallons of water. For reference, the average person will drink an estimated 30,000 gallons of water in their entire lifetime!

The Leussinks built the pool in 2013, but it more or less went unnoticed until they shared their creation in a YouTube video. One look and you will be in awe.

It definately has that resort look and feel to it. It’s all there, after all.

Sand. A dock. And all of the assorted items and toys you would expect.

It certainly is a pool. It’s lined, chlorinated, and has a pumping system to keep the water clean.

Perhaps the most amazing part is the cost. Only $15,000 dollars.

The family and their pool are located in Sundre, Alberta, Canada. They didn’t let that stop their dreams though, in fact they use that to make it a year-round space.

The pool will “be used for some skating in the winter,” Jerry said. Most people who have commented on the video have been impressed with the craftsmanship.

Tony Rios was taken with the drive. “This is why I admire people. If you want/need something you make it.”

That’s a huge pool and a massive amount of water. What do you think?

It sure would be nice to walk out the back door on a hot day and have your own beach. Your family and friends would certainly thank you, so grab a shovel and start digging!
