Lohan Urges Americans To Trust Trump Stop Bullying Him

Lindsay Lohan tweeted her loyalty to President Donald Trump Monday, urging Americans to stop “bullying” the president and “start trusting him.”

The 31-year-old actress retweeted a Trump supporter who had praised Trump for his comments on Charlie Gard, an 11-month-old infant in the U.K. who was born with a rare genetic disease.

A European court ruled earlier this week that Gard should be taken off life support, despite the possibility of the child receiving potentially life-saving experimental treatment in the U.S. Gard’s parents announced last week that they were preparing “to say their final goodbye.”

The story has captured the attention of many, including President Trump. The president tweeted on Monday that if the United States could help Gard, “we would be delighted to do so.”

“THIS IS our president. Stop #bullying him & start trusting him. Thank you personally for supporting #THEUSA.,” Lohan said in response to the user who praised Trump.

Trump supporters responded favorably to Lohan’s call for unity and support for the president.

Others questioned Lohan’s motives and responded negatively.

In another tweet, the actress said Monday that the Trump family “are kind people. As an American, why speak poorly of anyone?”

Lohan had previously displayed support for Trump in February during a Facebook Live Q&A session with the U.K. Daily Mail when she urged Americans to “join” the president.

“I think always in the public eye you’re going to be scrutinized,” she said.

“He is the president — we have to join him,” she said. “If you can’t beat him, join him.”
