For the past several weeks, President Donald Trump’s agenda has appeared to stall as he deals with the endless parade of leaks surrounding the investigation into his campaign’s alleged ties to Russia during the 2016 election.
Conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh addressed the troubles Trump has been having on his talk show on Friday, where he claimed that Trump was getting bogged down in “the swamp” and was “playing the swamp’s game,” The Rush Limbaugh Show reported.
“It’s pure politics. And it’s the politics of the swamp, folks. The swamp has got Trump playing the swamp’s game right now. And that’s not what Trump was elected to do, and that’s not what Trump wants. Trump does not want to play the swamp’s game,” Limbaugh said.
Limbaugh said Trump could fire both deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and special counsel Robert Mueller as a way to shut down the investigation without breaking any laws — but it would still cause a lot of problems in the media.
“If Trump thought the investigation was needlessly harming the country and derailing us at a time we needed to be focused on real dangers and enemies, he could do it,” Limbaugh explained.
“There would be hell to pay in the media, don’t misunderstand. I mean, it would dwarf what’s happening,” he added.
Trump has grown increasingly frustrated with how his agenda is becoming derailed by this endless investigation — an investigation that after several months still hasn’t found one shred of evidence to back up any of the claims out there.
With health care reform, tax reform, infrastructure and foreign policy crises on the table for Trump to deal with, he doesn’t have time to play petty politics — but that’s exactly what he has been forced to do over the past few months.
“But the idea that he’s been hamstrung since the beginning because he was inaugurated under investigation, and at that time we didn’t even know what it was. It was just the FBI looking into Russia and collusion,” Limbaugh added.

Unfortunately for Trump, no matter what he does, this investigation isn’t going to go away. The best thing Trump can do is keep quiet on the matter until it is finished, and continue to work hard on enacting his agenda.
The America people want to see Trump enact real change. If he can do that, they won’t care about whatever the most recent leak from the special counsel’s investigation is.
