On Saturday, President Donald Trump fired off a tweet about NBA star Steph Curry that had the internet talking.
Curry is one of the star players from the 2016-17 NBA champion Golden State Warriors.
Prior to Trump jumping at Curry, the Warriors guard said he didn’t want to follow the tradition of sports teams visiting the White House.
“I don’t wanna go. That’s the nucleus of my belief. It’s not just me going to the White House. If it was, this would be a pretty short conversation,” Curry said.
In response, Trump tweeted:
Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team.Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!

Curry quickly became a trending topic on social media. Then, Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James reacted to Trump’s tweet with a personal attack on the president that could cost him some fans.
U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain’t going! So therefore ain’t no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!

There were a lot of reactions to James’s tweet:

Privileged millionaires won’t go to White House to make point. Get mad when uninvited. #Truth

Lebron just called @POTUS a “bum.” Very rude, disrespectful way to speak about the leader of the free world.

Trump hasn’t commented as of yet since James’s tweet. But if his comments on NFL players who kneel during the anthem are any indication, we should probably expect a response soon.
