It is still difficult to come to terms with the horrific miscarriage of justice that took place in Northern California on Thursday. Kate Steinle’s killer, an illegal immigrant deported five times, was declared not guilty of her murder despite admitting he killed her.

From Fox News:

The Justice Department is considering bringing federal charges against Jose Ines Garcia Zarate after his not guilty verdict in the Kate Steinle murder trial, department officials told Fox News on Friday.

A California jury acquitted Zarate of the more serious charges in the case, including murder, involuntary manslaughter and assault with a deadly weapon — only convicting him of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

U.S. immigration officials had said they would deport Garcia Zarate – also known as Juan Francisco Lopez Sanchez — who already had been deported five times and was wanted for a sixth deportation when Steinle was fatally shot in the back while walking with her father.

There’s no justification for what happened on Thursday. California let Kate’s family down. The defense claimed that the shooting was an accident. A. That’s ridiculous. B. It doesn’t matter. Zarate should not have been in this country and he wouldn’t have been if San Francisco had held onto him like ICE asked rather than release him onto the streets. Zarate not even getting manslaughter was 100% political and it sent the message to the rest of the country that the rule of law means nothing in San Francisco.

As you can imagine, a lot of Americans are upset about that.

So, they are taking matters into their own hands.

From Washington Examiner:

Thousands of Twitter users on Friday were urging people to #BoycottSanFrancisco after a jury there decided Jose Ines Garcia Zarate, a five-time deported Mexican man charged with shooting and killing Kate Steinle, was not guilty.

The Boycott San Francisco hashtag began trending on Twitter Friday morning as people vowed not to travel there or buy goods or services produced in the city.

It’s hard to justify spending a dollar in San Francisco ever again. If you live in California, your tax dollars are subsidizing this kind of behavior. You are paying for the salaries of politicians who support this kind of lawlessness. That’s a pretty disheartening reality.

Following the verdict, Zarate’s lawyer had the audacity to take a shot at President Trump.

From The Daily Caller:

Moments after the verdict, defense attorney Matt Gonzalez addressed reporters outside the courtroom. He addressed potential critics of the “not guilty” decision who might “criticize” the jury. Gonzalez specifically mentioned the president, vice president and attorney general. The attorney sent a blunt message to the Trump administration: “Let me remind them that they themselves are under investigation… and may avail themselves to the presumption of innocence.”

A stunning lack of professionalism that just goes to show you that San Francisco is very clearly trying to stick it to the president and his immigration message in general. This attorney represents everything that San Francisco believes in when it comes to immigration and he was clearly spiking the football here. Americans have every right to be outraged and hopefully, this boycott gains serious traction.
