Justice: Trump Drops the Hammer on Solyndra Like Companies

Justice Trump Drops the Hammer on Solyndra Like Companies

On Tuesday, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt formally announced plans to repeal former President, Barack Obama’s “Clean Power Plan,” and in effect, save American taxpayers from the devastation that Solyndra-like companies caused during the former president’s time in office.

When Solyndra misled the government about their financial promises and wound up going bust, many blamed the Obama administration for not properly vetting the so-called, clean-energy company. Taxpayers were left with the loss which totaled upwards of $500 million dollars.

Now, President Trump’s administration is doing something to put money back into American taxpayers hands and to end the war on coal, which would save an untold number of jobs.

According to Fox News, Pruitt announced that the repeal of the Clean Power Plan would lead the way for the creation of U.S. energy resource developments and reduce overzealous regulations that have prevented these new developments from moving forward.

“The president made a promise to the American people that the EPA would not be an agency that picks winners and losers as we generate electricity in this country,” Pruitt told the outlet. “The [Obama] administration made a commitment to declare a war on coal. And effective yesterday and today, that war is over.”

Pruitt wanted to make it clear that what the Obama administration did with the Clean Power Plan, overextended his administration’s authority.

“When you look at the way the [Obama EPA] conducted itself … they acted inconsistent with the authority of the statute,” Pruitt said. “They created uncertainty. Nothing has been achieved out of this rule. It’s created uncertainty across the country. So, we’ve taken the step to begin the process to rectify that [and] to provide clarity to folks across the country.”

Democrats have already begun to discuss that a fight will be imminent should this repeal go through, with Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune saying, “Trump can’t reverse our clean energy and climate progress with the stroke of a pen, and we’ll fight him and Scott Pruitt in the courts, in the streets, and at the state and local level across America to protect the health of every community,”

He added that this target on clean energy was, “one of the most egregious attacks ever on public health, our climate, and the safety of every community in the United States.”

Well, how’s this… the repeal will actually save Americans $33 billion dollars in compliance costs, so it’s pretty clear who cares more about the safety of our American communities.
