Huckabee Sanders Got Question About Hillary Book Had Entire Room Laughing at Reporter

As you may have perhaps heard, if you consume any form of media, Hillary Clinton has a new book out. And now, reporters want to know if Donald Trump’s going to read it.

“What Happened” has been treated by the media as if it were the lost eighth Harry Potter book, whereas everyday Americans have been less enthusiastic about the new tome.

When the book came up during a news conference Tuesday, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders had the perfect answer for the press corps — and it demonstrated the gulf in enthusiasm between the media and the American public.

The whole kerfuffle began when Sanders was asked whether the president would be reading “What Happened” and what his thoughts on the excerpts that had been released were. There was a bit of laughing in the briefing room, including from Sanders.

“Whether or not he’s going to read Hillary Clinton’s book, I’m not sure,” Sanders said. “I would think he’s pretty well versed on what happened.”

She then went on to rip Clinton’s motives: “I think it’s sad that after Hillary Clinton ran one of the most negative campaigns in history and lost, the last chapter of her public life is going to be defined by propping up book sales with false and reckless attacks,” Sanders said.

Talk about a perfect response — and one that had everyone laughing at the reporter.

“What Happened” isn’t exactly a chronicle of what happened — and the fact is, we all witnessed that — but it’s instead a public therapy session in which Clinton airs her grievances with everyone she believes kept her from the position she believes was rightfully hers. And you can participate in said therapy session for the low, low price of $17.99.

Well, whatever.

Much like the rest of her books, I predict “What Happened” will soon be a permanent resident of the remainder bin. Donald J. Trump, meanwhile, will continue to be a resident in the White House.

Oh, the irony.
