Gun control activists held massive anti-Second Amendment protests in March that included hundreds of thousands of emotional protesters taking to the streets of Washington D.C. and several other cities to demand stricter gun control laws.

These events received high praise and extensive coverage from the like-minded liberal media, who insinuated the protesters were representative of a broader population of American citizens who were also in favor of doing something about gun violence and school shootings.

But not every American is in favor of infringing upon the natural right to keep and bear arms simply for the sake of “doing something,” and PBS just reported on what is hoped to be a massive counter-rally by gun rights advocates on Saturday, April 14.

The event has been organized and coordinated largely via social media by a group known as the National Constitutional Coalition of Patriotic Americans, and they plan to host permitted pro-Second Amendment rallies at or near every state capitol in all 50 states.

While attendees are encouraged to bring unloaded rifles with them to the rallies as a symbolic “show of force,” they are also urged to follow all applicable laws in their states and localities in regard to the open carry of firearms.

“This is a very peaceful approach to a show of force,” said David Clayton, a founder of the coalition. “What that means is we’re not going to go there looking for a fight. We’re saying, ‘Look at all the people gathered here. We have a voice too.’”

The coalition is a collection of various patriotic citizen and pro-gun groups that range from Second Amendment advocacy to Three Percent groups and local militias. Organizers hope to see upwards of a million gun rights supporters in total turn out for the event across the country.

Ammoland reported on the planned National Stand For Your Rights 2A rallies to highlight the effort at countering the loud anti-gun voices with a unified pro-gun voice.

“One of the biggest things to come out of these rallies so far is the fact that over 100 patriot organizations were able to come together to stand up for our rights,” stated Mike Morris, a national leader of the III% United Patriots group, which has chapters in all 50 states. “This in itself should be a wake-up call to those who would trample the rights of free men and women. We are everywhere, we are watching, and we are united.”

Ammoland spoke to a Virginia man named Ed McCall who, despite the fact that he doesn’t own any firearms, nevertheless plans to attend the scheduled rally in Richmond on Saturday.

“I am going to the rally because if they take away one right, then they will take away another,” explained McCall in a phone interview. “The government is already trying to control speech.”

McCall referenced legislation that has been proposed in California which would require social media companies to scrub “fake news” content from their platforms — even though the “fake news” label is completely subjective and largely dependent upon an ideological point of view — and ominously added, “They are coming for your guns.”

The leader of a local militia in New York hoped to see a large turnout of patriot gun owners to serve as a strong counter-message to those who would infringe upon their rights.

“The turnout for this event is crucial,” stated George Curbelo, state commander of the New York Light Foot Militia. “Why? There has never been a more threatening time to our Second Amendment and our freedom despite the present administration. If those that believe in the Second Amendment sit back and wait for others to do the work we’re going to get the same results and truly lose our freedom.”

While it is highly unlikely that the mainstream media will shower this event with the same sort of coverage they gave the anti-gun protests — if they decide to give it any coverage at all — a large turnout of gun rights supporters in state capitols across the nation will make it that much harder for them to ignore.

Most of the rallies are coordinated and scheduled to take place around 2 p.m. ET, and hopefully will go off without a hitch as gun owners make their voices heard as they stand up for their Second Amendment rights.
