Each and every accusation by liberals, pointing to the alleged and non-existent Trump-Russia collusion, is slowly coming to an end.
It’s not just that the case is a corrupted effort by the left to undermine Trump, “an already-tough portion of the Republican platform dealing with Russia was strengthened, not weakened, at the GOP convention,” states Byron York for The Washington Examiner.
Diana Denman, who used to delegate for Ted Cruz and is also an active political spokesperson who joined Trump’s team, introduced an amendment during the platform committee meeting at the GOP convention in Cleveland.
“Denman’s amendment praised the Ukrainian people and said they deserved the greatest U.S. assistance,” York writes.
The amendment, as provided by York, entails the following:
“We, therefore, support maintaining (and, if warranted, increasing) sanctions against Russia until Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are fully restored. We also support providing lethal defensive weapons to Ukraine’s armed forces and greater coordination with NATO on defense planning. Simultaneously, we call for increased financial aid for Ukraine, as well as greater assistance in the economic and humanitarian spheres, including government reform and anti-corruption.”
Although the amendment contained “generic rhetoric,” the same was later removed. The amendment envisioned “providing lethal defensive weapons” and providing “appropriate assistance to the armed forces,” which basically allows amends in the idea but not the overall vision for it.
In the final amendment, there was also a provision that allows the U.S. to help Ukraine in regards to armed forces, a piece that wasn’t originally included in the draft itself.
“Trump campaign guts GOP’s anti-Russia stance on Ukraine,” wrote The Washington Post in a recently published piece. Even so, Democrats remained persistent in their claims the collision did happen.
“Yet Democrats, along with GOP Never Trumpers, press on — and it appears the platform narrative, wrong as it is, will not die,” York concludes.
It is God’s honest truth that you will never succeed in pleasing everybody, and we all know how a Democratic mind works- my way or the highway. Well, we’re sorry to say, but no can do.
