For the past few months, Democrats have been conducting a very aggressive, and very loud, campaign against Republican efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare.
Ignoring the fact that the entire health care system is collapsing around them, liberals have been fear mongering, with Sen. Bernie Sanders, among others, claiming the GOP health care bill will “kill thousands of people.”
Appearing on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends,” Tuesday, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich lashed out at these absurd Democrat claims, Newsmax reported.
“I think the Democrats’ irresponsibility is totally unbounded,” Gingrich said. “This notion that the Republicans want to kill people, it’s really, it’s almost pathetic that the Democratic Party has no new ideas, no new solutions, takes no responsibility for the disaster that they passed with Obamacare.”
“All they have is wild charges that no serious American is going to look at as an actual problem,” he added.
From day one, Democrats have shown that they have no interest in actually working with Republicans to help fix the disaster that the Democrats themselves created.
While the Republican efforts to fix the problem may not be going as smoothly as we would like, at least they are trying to fix this disaster before even more Americans suffer.
All Democrats do is complain and hurl ridiculous accusations at their Republicans counterparts.
“What they just said is a lie,” Gingrich said, referencing Democrats’ claims that thousands would die as the result of the new health care plan. “We have 8,000 federal community health centers in this country. They don’t even count as part of this bill. Eight thousand places where people can get help.”
Gingrich also put some of the blame on the Republicans for not improving their messaging. Gingrich cited the claim that the Republican bill would cut Medicaid — when in fact it increases funding for Medicaid over the next few years — albeit not as much as some may like.
“So half the Republican problem or more than half is the communications problem … they’re actually putting 20 percent more into Medicaid over the next decade. That’s a serious effort in the right direction,” he explained.

Republicans need to keep working at the repeal and replace effort, no matter what the Democrats say about them. What the GOP passes won’t be perfect, but it will be a heck of a lot better than what we have now. Obamacare has been a disaster plan and simple.
