“If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.” — Obi-Wan Kenobi

Leftists who are celebrating the ouster of White House chief strategist Steve Bannon should put away their champagne and take several seats.

Bannon has declared war on all of President Trump’s enemies, and plans to use his massive media platform at Breitbart to take them down. And the gloves are off.

“If there’s any confusion out there, let me clear it up: I’m leaving the White House and going to war FOR Trump against his opponents — on Capitol Hill, in the media, and in corporate America,” Bannon told Bloomberg’s Joshua Green.

Just hours after leaving the White House on Friday, Bannon was back as the executive chairman of Breitbart, the job he held before joining the Trump team. He even led an editorial meeting that evening to plan his next attack.

Rumors had swirled that Bannon had turned against the president after being forced out of his job by liberal globalists in the Trump White House. He added fuel to the fire by criticizing the Trump presidency in a post-exit interview with the Weekly Standard:

The Trump presidency that we fought for, and won, is over. We still have a huge movement, and we will make something of this Trump presidency. But that presidency is over. It’ll be something else. And there’ll be all kinds of fights, and there’ll be good days and bad days, but that presidency is over.
Bannon said part of the blame lies with Republicans, who are too wimpy to fight back against obstructionist Democrats.

“The Republican establishment has no interest in Trump’s success on this,” he said. “They’re not populists. They’re not nationalists. They had no interest in his program. Zero.”

Breitbart insiders like senior editor Joel Pollak suggested Bannon can do far more to help President Trump outside the White House. Pollak made the remarks to MSNBC shortly before Bannon confirmed his return to Breitbart.

Pollak — who has been critical of Trump — said Bannon and Breitbart remain committed to their mission to take on their three main enemies: (1) Hollywood and mainstream media, (2) the left, and (3) the Republican establishment. “We remain true to our mission,” he said. “We are happy warriors. We fight onward.”

Similarly, Steve Bannon feels exhilarated now that he no longer has the constraints of being a White House employee. Now he’s free to do maximum damage to Trump’s enemies.

“I feel jacked up,” Bannon gushed to the Weekly Standard. “Now I’m free. I’ve got my hands back on my weapons. Someone said, ‘it’s Bannon the Barbarian.’ I am definitely going to crush the opposition. There’s no doubt. I built a f***ing machine at Breitbart. And now I’m about to go back, knowing what I know, and we’re about to rev that machine up.”
