Most Famous Athlete in America Right Now Just Issued a Stunning Statement on Donald Trump

While the media and a string of liberal celebrities take every opportunity to criticize President Donald Trump, one prominent athlete has taken a stand for him.

Floyd Mayweather Jr., a famous boxer, defended the president against charges of racism, aptly pointing out that the liberals crying foul never had a problem with Trump until he was a Republican in the White House.

“I’m not here to tell nobody who they can and they can’t be friends with,” Mayweather said in an interview with Hollywood Unlocked, according to Complex. “I think, within this world, racism still exists. You never heard anything about Donald Trump being racist until he ran for president and won.”

“Before that, he was on WWE, he was on different shows, and everybody liked Donald Trump. But as soon as he ran for president…,” the boxer continued.

Mayweather may arguably be one of the most famous athletes in the country right now following his recent victory against mixed martial artist Conor McGregor in what the New York Times has called the “biggest pay-per-view bout in history.”

His prominence makes his defense of the president even more refreshing, particularly considering the string of celebrities and athletes who have made bashing Trump their platform.

The famous boxer actually has a friendly past with the president, and even visited with him and his family shortly after Trump won the 2016 presidential election, according to Complex.

When questioned by TMZ about his plans to attend Trump’s inauguration, Mayweather explained how Trump had supported him at his 2015 fight against Manny Pacquiao and he simply wanted to return the favor.

“We judge people that we really don’t know,” Mayweather said at the time. “So I’m not here to say nothing negative about nobody.”

It’s certainly refreshing to see a celebrity break from the liberal brainwashing that seems to take place in Hollywood and among elite crowds. And he’s absolutely right that Trump was never accused of being a racist until he was leading the country. Just because that leadership differs from the liberal agenda doesn’t make him a racist; it just makes him a president who’s looking out for America’s best interests.
