When Frank McAlister took his son Ted to a FanBoy Expo in Knoxville, Tennessee they both got to meet the original “Incredible Hulk” star Lou Ferrigno. What happened next proved that Ferrigno is just as incredible as the character he played.

As McAlister and his son were having their meet-and-greet with the Hulk star, Ted began to have a seizure.

McAlister wrote a post on Facebook to explain what happened.

“Ted stood and was talking to Lou and I was outside the rail waiting. Ferrigno touched me on the shoulder and said that Ted was trying to tell him something that he couldn’t understand,” McAlister wrote.

“I turned and knew immediately that Ted was having a seizure and I told Ferrigno what the problem was and I needed to get to him.”

According to Wate, it was then that Ferrigno cleared his booth and called for the paramedics. As they were waiting for help to arrive,. Ferrigno calmed the boy and made sure he was laid safely on the ground.

Ferrigno credits his sheriff and CPR training with the way he was able to respond in the situation. According to The Independent Journal Review, “Ferrigno is a reserve sheriff’s deputy in both Los Angeles, and San Luis Obispo, California.”

For his part, Ferrigno said he was just happy the incident occurred at his booth and not somewhere like the restroom, or somewhere Ted would have been alone.

According to McAlister’s Facebook post, Ferrigno then asked for Ted to be brought back after he had fully recovered so that they could take another photo together, free of charge.

“Talk about a real life Action Hero! This man is the real deal. It was an absolute honor to shake his hand and a greater honor to say Thank You to a gentle Giant. I pray that God will bless this man and keep him safe and out of harms way. Thanks for a wonderful memory,” wrote McAlister.

Ferrigno tweeted that he was just happy to help.

Hats off to Ferringo for stepping up when it really mattered.
