While Conservatives Focus on NK ICBM Liberals Move to Ban Glitter

There are a lot of threats to this nation, and the world, right now. Terrorism, Russia, China, Iran and North Korea are just some of the top threats we face on a daily basis.

However, in the leftist world, none of these things matter as much as saving the environment … from glitter. Yes, you read that right, there actually is a movement to ban glitter.

Scientists around the world have concluded that glitter is a threat to the environment and are urging that the product be outlawed, the U.K. Independent reported.

Scientists are concerned that the tiny pieces of plastic that make up glitter are getting in the ocean and damaging the environment.

“I think all glitter should be banned, because it’s microplastic,” explained Dr. Trisia Farrelly who is an environmental anthropologist at Massey University in New Zealand.

Apparently these scientists think that glitter is the worst thing to happen to this world because people aren’t doing enough about it.

“I was quite concerned when somebody bought my daughters some shower gel that had glitter particles in it,” Professor Richard Thompson stated.

Sounds like he’s not going to get the father of the year award.

“That stuff is going to escape down the plughole and potentially enter the environment,” Thompson continued.

Well, I guess we should all apologize for not caring about the effect of glitter on the environment. We were all too busy paying attention to North Korea’s nuclear weapons program — something that actually could destroy the world.

These scientists really have their priorities backwards. Yes, protecting the environment is important, but right now the world has bigger problems than microplastics.

There are of course alternatives to plastic-based glitter, and some companies have incorporated these environmentally safe versions into their products.

However there really is no need to start having the government ban glitter everywhere. The solution to everything in life isn’t to pass a law banning something — no matter what some liberals might think.

If plastic-based glitter is as bad as these people claim it is, then they need to be doing a better job of convincing the people of that.

Right now, the public will focus on responding to the actual threats that might result in the destruction of all life on Earth. The scientists can go ahead and keep playing with their glitter.
