Fox News is back on top of the ratings for November.
MSNBC (for some very strange reason) sits in second place.
CNN lags way behind in third.
Here are the details…
The cable news ratings for November have been tallied, and the fake news factory that is CNN found itself in a distant last place behind second-place MSNBC. As has been the case forever, Fox News held the top spot.
Fox News trounced CNN in every conceivable metric, most especially in total viewers.
Fox’s average of 1.43 million total day viewers more than doubled CNN’s pathetic 690 thousand. During primetime, the humiliation was even worse: Fox’s 2.299 million viewers nearly tripled CNN’s laughably low 855 thousand.
Putting CNN in a distant last place was second place MSNBC, which nearly doubled CNN’s paltry primetime viewership (855 thousand) with 1.687 million total viewers. Both of the left-wing networks were far apart in total day viewers, with MSNBC notching 942 thousand, compared to the 690 thousand for last place CNN.
In a country of more than 330 million, CNN cannot manage to accumulate anything close to even one million viewers.
More from AdWeek:
Sean Hannity had the No. 1 show in cable news in total audience, and the second-most-watched show on all of cable for November, only ESPN’s behind Monday Night Football.
Hannity was also No. 1 in the key A25-54 demo for the month if one excludes special programming (639,000 vs. 634,000 for Rachel Maddow). But if one includes special programming, Hannity is No. 2 in the demo behind Maddow.
Fox & Friends continues to win the cable news morning show ratings race (193 straight months), and it’s on pace to have the highest-rated in network history in its timeslot.
In addition to Hannity, and F&F, Your World with Neil Cavuto, The Five, Special Report with Bret Baier, The Story with Martha MacCallum, Tucker Carlson Tonight, The Ingraham Angle all won their respective time slot in total viewers, and in the key A25-54 demo.
AdWeek has more on CNN and MSNBC:
CNN may have defeated MSNBC in the demo during daytime hours, but the latter got the best of the former in total audience. For the second straight month, MSNBC dayside (M-F, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) defeated CNN in total viewers. It was the No. 3 basic cable network in the dayside daypart in total viewers, only behind Nickelodeon and Fox News.
The 11th Hour With Brian Williams stood out. For the seventh consecutive month, it was the No. 1 cable news program in its timeslot in total viewers. Williams also defeated CNN Tonight With Don Lemon and 11 p.m. newcomer Fox News @ Night anchored by Shannon Bream in all key measurements, including total viewers and that important A25-54 demo.
And then there was Morning Joe. Not only did Joe & Mika finish ahead of New Day, but they delivered the most-watched month ever for the network in the 6 – 9 a.m. time period, averaging 1.1 million total viewers.
Facts matter, and it’s not exactly a secret that FNC is the fairest and balanced of the bunch.
