CNN counterterrorism analyst Phil Mudd was visibly upset Wednesday when he took a shot at Rep. Trey Gowdy after the House Intelligence Committee Hearing with former CIA Director John Brennan.
During an interview on CNN’s “New Day,” Mudd criticized Gowdy for questions directed at Brennan regarding alleged collusion between President Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia.
CNN played a clip of the South Carolina Republican asking Brennan if he had “evidence” rather than “intelligence.” After some back and forth, Brennan implied by his response that no hard evidence has been found.
Mudd, unhappy with the exchange and Gowdy’s questions, expressed his frustration.
“Trey Gowdy ought to have his ass kicked,” Mudd said. “He knows the difference between intelligence and evidence.”
Take a look at Mudd’s comments below:
It’s actually sort of humorous to see Democrats meltdown when they fail to find actual evidence against Trump. Having been on the prowl since Trump’s inauguration, the frustration seems to be mounting as the left has come up short time and time again on their mission to find something to bring down the president.
While there are many people in Washington that need a kick in the pants, Gowdy certainly isn’t one of them.
It’s too bad Mudd didn’t have the nerve to say these things to Gowdy’s face — that would have been a showdown for the books.
