Perhaps Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie out to take some time off from going to Major League Baseball games. Once again he has garnered negative publicity after being spotted doing something in the stands that went viral online.
Just a couple weeks ago Christie was heartily booed by the crowd after snagging a foul ball at a New York Mets game. Now, he is being criticized and mocked for getting in the face of a Chicago Cubs fan who mouthed off to him at a Milwaukee Brewers game on Sunday, according to The Washington Times.
Christie, whose son works for the Brewers organization, was at the game in Milwaukee and appeared to be returning to his seat from the concession stand when a Cubs fan said something that grabbed his attention and compelled him to walk back up the stairs and get right in the guy’s face for a brief stare-down.
Video was captured of the tail-end of the minor confrontation and showed Christie telling the man, identified as Brad Joseph, “You’re a big shot,” before walking away, to which Joseph replied, “I appreciate that” while everyone around them laughed.

According to WISN, the video was filmed by their own reporter Ben Hutchinson, who happened to be seated near and related to Joseph.
“When he initially was going up the stairs I yelled his name. He was already quite a bit past me, and 30 feet away I yelled his name and told him that he sucked,” Joseph recounted of the moments prior to the stand-off. “I called him a hypocrite because I thought it needed to be said. He then turned around and walked all the way back towards me and got up in my face for what seemed like a long time, but was probably only about 30 seconds or a minute.”
Joseph further claimed that Christie had made contact with his knee and asked him if he wanted to “do something” or “start something.”
“(He) was yelling at me,” recalled Joseph. “First he told me, ‘Why don’t you have another beer?’ which I thought was a decent come back, and I thought that was kind of funny. Then he started calling me a tough guy.”
“He is a public official and this is America and I think we have the right to say what you believe as long as it’s not crude or profane,” Joseph added, who remained calm throughout the encounter.
Christie’s tough guy persona once played quite well with the GOP base, but has seemingly worn thin over the years, and could very well be a component in his dismal approval ratings, worst of all governors in the entire country.
Now pretty much everyone is ready for him to just pipe down and go away.
