James Corden and his ever-popular Carpool Karaoke took a rather confusing turn this week when he invited rapper Cardi B as his passenger.

Not only were we subjected to the comedian rapping some of her greatest hits, but we got to see Cardi take a driving lesson, perform at a senior centre and shout-rap out of the window at fellow drivers.

But the most WTF moment of the entire segment came from the revelation that Cardi owns five super-cars – and yet she still can’t drive.

Here’s how the conversation went down:

Corden: “I know you love cars, how many cars have you got now?”

Cardi: “I have a Lambo [Lamborghini, for all those car newbs out there], I have a Lamborghini Truck, I have a Bentley Truck, I have a Maybach and I have a Suburban. So I have five.”

Cordon: “Five cars. Now here’s my biggest question: you can’t drive, so what’s the point of having the cars?”

Our question exactly – why would Cardi B hold a passion for a hobby she can’t partake in?

Her answer? “To take pictures with.”

If this is the age we’re living in, ‘Style Over Substance’ would be its tagline.

Yes, Cardi B can’t drive, and yet she has a garage full of expensive cars so she can take pictures of herself with them to post on social media. And by the looks of her driving test, she ain’t passing any time soon.

At least she actually showed up to Carpool Karaoke and had a go at a driving test. Which is more than what can be said for one guest who, according to Corden, refused to get in the passenger seat.

In a recent convo with Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, the comedian said: “For the anniversary of Back to the Future, we were going to do a sort of ‘Best of the ’80s’ Carpool Karaoke in a DeLorean.

“We had booked Bryan Adams to come and do the thing. We were very excited. I love Bryan Adams. He’s got hits for days – he’s terrific.

“[He] walked in, seen the list of other people that have done it, turned around, got in his car and left… He just bolted, he was gone.”

He then said they decided to scrap the whole thing.

“I kind of understand it,” he said. “I get it and I hold no grudge.” Awkward!
