Cam Records Package Thief Failing to Escape Woman Paper Calls Rambo Nanny

‘Tis the season for package theft, unfortunately. A great number of us who order our presents online will have them swiped by holiday highwaymen. I’ve already had a Kindle relieved from me somewhere along the delivery chain, so I know the annoyance and inconvenience.

Alas, I didn’t have a nanny like Kate Anderson. If I did, I can guarantee you this: I wouldn’t be waiting for a replacement Kindle.

According to KCPQ-TV, the Everett, Washington woman has earned the sobriquet “Rambo Nanny” after chasing down and tackling a woman who stole a package that had been delivered.

Anderson, an employee of the Smith family, hadn’t been able to get the package from the front porch when it was delivered on Nov. 29, according to the U.K. Daily Mail; she was busy taking care of the family’s 1-year-old baby.

Ten minutes later, however, the home security camera caught a thief coming out of a car to steal the package that had been delivered.

Anderson wasn’t going to let that happen:

As you can see, she was able to chase down the thief, who was jettisoned by her getaway driver in relatively comical fashion. Anderson then came and tackled the woman, refusing to let her go.

The woman was later identified as 29-year-old Rhieanna Schindler, who — surprise of surprises — had outstanding warrants for drug offenses and theft, as well as more than 20 arrests.

Even though she’s earned the name “Rambo Nanny,” Anderson insists that she just reacted on the spur of the moment.

“I saw her bending and picking it up, and they get a lot of packages. And I knew. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s taking that,’ so I just took off after her, to be honest,” Anderson told KIRO-TV.

And, on the camera, you can hear things getting pretty heated.

“Hey what the f*** are you doing? Hey you f****** piece of s*** what are you trying to steal?” Anderson can be heard saying to the thief.

“I didn’t do anything!” the suspect can be heard shouting.

“Yes you did!” Anderson said. “I f****** saw you, you know we got security cameras on this house, don’tcha?”

The woman tried to get away, but Anderson was insistent: “I am not letting you go!” she can be heard exclaiming. After Anderson notified a passer-by, the police were called, and the thief was eventually hauled off to the hoosegow when Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies arrived eight minutes later.

And it wasn’t like they were doing it out of poverty, either; Anderson described one of the thieves as nicely dressed.

“She had a dog in her jacket, this is just crazy,” Anderson said.

Maybe Paris Hilton has fallen on hard times? Who knows. All we can say is that Kate Anderson is pretty bada** — and her employer can concur with that assessment.

“She’s just like a straight baller, she’s amazing and doesn’t take any crap from anybody,” stated Tanya Smith, Anderson’s employer.

While the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office doesn’t recommend tackling package thieves if you discover them, Anderson said she would do it all over again.

“I think I would,” Anderson said, laughing. “I didn’t ever feel like she was a threat to me. So I think I would’ve handled it the same way, yes, because it’s just not OK to go around doing that. It’s so not OK with me.”

GoFundMe page has been set up here to offer a reward to Anderson for her bravery. While the initial goal was $200, it had already passed $330 as of Sunday night.
