On Wednesday, BuzzFeed announced that they had a serious pest problem, and no it wasn’t just the “writers” who work there. They were describing the infestation of bed bugs in their New York office. It looks like BuzzFeed is getting some biblical retribution in the most ironic of ways.
According to Milo Yiannopoulos, an email sent out to BuzzFeed’s employees on at 11:41 p.m. Wednesday stated in part, “please be advised that bed bugs have been detected at BuzzFeed HQ at 111 East 18th Street.”
“We are acting out of an abundance of caution and asking you to work from home tomorrow to give facilities the chance to deal with this in the fastest and environmentally safest manner. Fumigation will take place as soon as possible tomorrow,” the email continued, according to The Wrap.
BuzzFeed allowed employees to come into work to gather any belongings they may need to complete their work and added, that the company has “every expectation that it will be clear to re-enter the office and resume normal course of business by Friday morning.”
BuzzFeed is getting some ironic biblical justice because the infestation of bed bugs is hilarious when you consider the website’s name literally points to bugs feeding.
It’s how they run their business as well, offering horrible click-bait and nonsensical articles. Remember, this is the website that saw fit to publish the notoriously fake Russian “dossier” about President Donald Trump.
BuzzFeed relies on pestering their target audience by incessantly advertising on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter and writing pieces designed only to receive views.
They don’t care about thoughtful content and now it seems as if they are finally getting back exactly what they’ve put out.
Twitter users had a field day with the news:
I offer my sincerest condolences to the bedbugs who are currently suffering from an infestation of @BuzzFeed journalists in their home.

BuzzFeed NYC office infested with bedbugs…. No idea on whether they’re Monicas or Rachels, as they haven’t taken the quizzes yet.
