As President Trump harshly criticized the decision of NFL players to kneel through the national anthem, the league dismissed his criticism and made it seem as though he was the one to blame for everything happening over the weekend.
As soon as the players of two teams made the rational-to-them call to keep on their knees as the national anthem was playing, the Internet exploded in rage.
The worst part of it, though, is that everything went down in London, in front of everyone’s eyes.
Not just that, the two teams stood in pride as soon as the British anthem, ‘God Save the Queen’ began playing…I mean, does it get any more absurd than that?
On Sunday, while the rest of the Pittsburgh Steelers team went for cover in their locker room, only former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva had the courage to step out for the National Anthem.
This move was a clear strike at not the national anthem alone, but the country and the police department as well. Patriotic Americans were outraged at the disgraceful anti-police stunt by NFL players.
Naturally, this caused a major revolt among NFL fans, which are now swearing off the game forever. One of NFL’s most heated fans even collected everything NFL-related in his house and set it on fire.
Robert L. Williams began by throwing out all things he owned from the NFL: jerseys, gear and fans T-shirts.
And here is what he noted: ‘We have morals in this country. We stand for this country. My great uncle’s bones are lying in the bottom of Pearl Harbor. For this country. For the flag. For your freedom to play in the NFL and to say whatever you want to say. But you do not disrespect the flag and the country and the Constitution… So watch this stuff burn.’
It’s a bold call, that’s certain, and we applaud his determination to boycott the league.
